Sisters Rodeo is gearing up for their 85th year by adding a full performance
The 85th Annual Sisters Rodeo is shaping up to be one of the biggest events in its storied history, and tickets are selling faster than ever. This year, the rodeo will feature an exciting new addition—a full performance on the Thursday of rodeo week.
“It’s huge for the community. It’s huge for our ticket sales,” said Sisters Rodeo President Scott Talerico. “It’s just something that I think we’ve needed to do for years, and we’ve held off on. This year, our ticket sales have been off the charts.”
“This is our 85th year, so it’s a big deal for us,” Talerico shared. “We’re making some huge improvements around the rodeo grounds, and we’re really excited.”
Known as the “Biggest Little Show in the World,” the Sisters Rodeo is a PRCA-sanctioned event that attracts world-class athletes and passionate fans from across the globe.
Last year, the rodeo made headlines after a bull named Party Bus jumped the arena fence, "Party Bus is a bull that we all know from last year,” Talerico said. “He’s just an incredible athlete. What happened, happened, and I think that everyone that was at the rodeo understands the dangers that is coming to a rodeo. In a way, the publicity was good for both the Sisters Rodeo and the sport as a whole.”
Since then, Party Bus has retired. The Sisters Rodeo is looking onto 2025, as they are excited to deliver another year of unforgettable performances.
Vice President Brian Greig credits much of the rodeo’s success to the dedication of its 250 members and volunteers, as well as the sponsorships that help fund the event.
“There are 800 rodeos across the country, and we’re just one of the stops,” Greig explained. “We want to make sure we attract the top talent, and sponsorships are a big part of that. Not only do they help pay the bills, but they also allow us to put more money in the cowboys’ pockets so they can keep competing and make it to the NFR.”
As the countdown to June begins, excitement is building for the 85th Annual Sisters Rodeo.
“We’re just excited to have everybody come out this year,” said Greig. “It’s all about creating a family-friendly environment and celebrating what makes this event so special. Being the 85th year makes it even more meaningful. As Scott always says, ‘Time to go to work.’ We’re ready to go and can’t wait to see everyone in June.”
