Trinity Lutheran boys basketball finds success on the court through brotherhood and faith
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Senior Andrew Imhoff and the Trinity Lutheran Saints have a chance to clinch the league title and make another deep postseason run. Despite moving up from 1A to 2A and losing star player Jack Foley, the Saints remain a dominant force.
"It's a matter of finishing the game for us. And just coming together and playing as a team and not so as much of yourselves, but as a whole," Imhoff said.
They’ve faced top-tier competition and understand what it takes to win.
For senior Caleb Gilbert and the Saints, it’s about more than just basketball — their faith fuels them every step of the way.
"Oh, I think we can win a state championship this year. We have the talent. We have the skill. We just need to put it all together and just play in this quarter at a time," Gilbert said.
Head coach Kyle Gilbert, now in his ninth season, emphasizes that faith is the foundation of their team’s success—on and off the court.
"We spend a lot of time in practice, our relationship with Jesus, which I think definitely translates to the ability to share the ball in the court, and be selfless, and be a great teammate." Kyle Gilbert said.
Now, it’s one final ride for this senior class— a journey built on faith, brotherhood and determination.
"Sad to leave this place," Imhoff said. "It's a small school, so I mean, I'm hoping that I made a pretty big impact."
