The Big Playback: Mtn. View prevails in the rain; Ridgeview dominates at home

BEND, Ore (KTVZ)-- The Mountain View Cougars stayed unbeaten Friday night, overcoming rainy conditions and a second-half push from North Medford to earn a 24-17 victory.

After North Medford took an early 3-0 lead, Mountain View’s offense found its rhythm behind quarterback Liam Wheir. Wheir connected with Jettson Gillam on multiple big plays before Ryder Carpenter scored twice to give the Cougars a 14-3 halftime lead. North Medford opened the second half with a kickoff return score to make it a game, but Mountain View held strong, with Logan Cardwell adding a key field goal as the Cougars improved to 2-0. Mountain View will face South Medford next week.

Over at Ridgeview, the Ravens dominated their home opener against Crater, cruising to a 37-0 shutout victory.

Ridgeview’s defense forced multiple early turnovers, setting the tone for the night. Quarterback Jordan Rodriguez helped lead the offense, connecting with Finn Chambers for a long touchdown, while Bronx Lick scored twice on the ground. The Ravens built a 20-0 halftime lead and pulled away in the second half to secure the win.
