BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) --In a thrilling game that had fans on the edge of their seats, the No. 1 Caldera boys basketball team in 5A delivered a dramatic victory over 6A’s No. 3 West Linn. Playing on their home court, Caldera proved why they’re at the top of 5A, securing a win in the final seconds of the game when Miles Macomber hit a game-winner with 1.6 seconds left.

The atmosphere was electric from the opening tip, with a packed gym buzzing with energy and anticipation. Both teams showcased their talent and Caldera’s standout performers rose to the occasion, delivering clutch plays when it mattered most.

Jack Bents led the team with a stellar performance, scoring 21 points and keeping the offense flowing. Miles Macomber added 19 points, including the game-winning shot that sealed the victory. The Mountain View Cougars girls basketball team put up an impressive fight against La Grande, but ultimately fell short in an overtime heartbreaker. Despite a stellar first half, the Cougars couldn’t hold off La Grande’s late surge.

Aly Aragon, the Cougars' star player, was a standout performer, dazzling the crowd with her incredible playmaking and scoring. She was unstoppable at times, delivering a performance that had everyone on the edge of their seats. Though the Cougars didn’t get the win, Aragon’s efforts were a highlight of the game.

It was a tough loss, but the Cougars showed resilience and promise as they continue their season.
