Platypus Pub closing, likely replaced by Starbucks

It began as a Church of the Nazarene in the 1950s, later becoming the French restaurant Le Bistro, then the Italian restaurant Ernesto's, followed by the Brew Shop for home brewers, which later added the Platypus Pub at the Third Street locale.

But the pub is closing in the next few days and the Brew Shop to follow, with a drive-thru Starbucks apparently destined to replace it, to the sadness of the regulars.
