Des. Co. clerk says primary election came with unprecedented challenges

Nancy Blankenship, the Deschutes County clerk, said Wednesday that this year's primary election was unlike any other. Tuesday night's election results trickled in later than expected. Blankenship said issues included having fewer staff due to COVID-19, voters complaining about receiving the wrong ballot and adapting to upgraded ballot sorter software and hardware.
