All that matters now is group identity based on immutable characteristics. We are going backward.
I agree. How is it that relatively arbitrary physical characteristics are given such weight over a person’s morals, ethics, values, experience, education and communication skills? Clearly, when assessing another person, their skin color should be far down the list as it is low resolution. Why don’t we promote diversity of hair and eye color to take the argument to the extreme? Because those characteristics can’t be monetized or politicized for influence. The best phrase I have run across it “race hustling”, I believe by Thomas Sowell. Playing the “poor black people just can’t get ahead” supported by loose association that doesn’t stand up to critical thinking, but plays on peoples’ emotions. COBLA is clearly just playing the role as they realize they can get a group of white people to go along, who also have their own ulterior motives. People like you and I need to understand the rules they are playing by. Yep, for now, we are going backwards: racism, prejudice and discrimination are going to come back and will be practiced by those on both ends of the spectrum.
COBLA is the only local non profit organization to emerge from this past summer’s social/racial justice focus in Central Oregon.
With multiple projects to include paid internships, working positively with law enforcement, and engaging with the local business communities.
That said, the large fellow in the back with the striped shirt is Luke Richter, founder of the Central Oregon Peacekeepers.
Luke and his two white co-founders, Mike Satcher and Ian Lewis, both disgruntled / disenchanted Army veterans, have contributed Zero to the conversation.
A brief read of Richter’s Facebook pages, one of which FB has shut down, reveals his non peaceful attitude and smug “F” U if you don’t like what I do”.
Satcher’s musings are equally as non productive if not more so and he is facing trial in Crook County on multiple charges.
Where COBLA seeks to unify all people the COPK seeks to sell its “peacekeeper” swag while trying to keep its founders out of jail.

Keeping people divided and frightened is the best way to control a population and distract people from the real issues of an overbearing government. The same process worked well in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. I hope Americans wake up to the scam soon.
What a wonderful opportunity for the community to completely immerse themseleves in the Black culture. I love Blkack History Month; It’s the most racist government calendar designation. Now that the 13% has grown to nearly 14.2 %; let’s celebrate all the people that were not black and shelled out duckets for decades to fix the ‘problem’; to no avail.
Black History Month, or black anything is racist. Just how often does anyone read or hear about white this or white that. I am so sick of listening or reading about race. So many people think they should be special because of the color of their skin. Pathetic

Why should one feel anything? Too many people are obsessed with what other people feel. Don’t worry about it. People need to stop trying to make something out of nothing. I am what I am, whining about the color of your skin won’t make me feel sorry for you. There are a lot more misfortunate people that we should feel sympathy for, who are proud of who they are, and don’t want our sympathy, why, because they have excepted what life has given them, and they know whining won’t change anything. These are the people I admire, these are the people I want to bend over backwards to help. Don’t let the color of your skin make you handicapped, be proud of who you are.
