River freezes over in some areas in downtown Bend – but beware thin ice
The cold weather has led to the Deschutes River (Mirror Pond) freezing over in some areas in downtown Bend, but it's not safe to skate, walk or venture out onto, as it's not thick like found on some lakes and ponds, a Bend Parks representative warns.
