C.O. Memorial Day nears: Flags placed on Redmond graves, poppies given away in Bend

As Memorial Day approaches, flags are being placed by volunteers at the gravesites of fallen servicemembers. Meanwhile, the American Legion Auxiliary in Bend is again giving away traditional poppies to honor veterans, continuing from 10 to 2 p.m. Saturday in front of Victory Baptist Church on NE Greenwood Avenue; any donations will help fund the new Central Oregon Village.
