The cooldown begins

KTVZ

Happy Tuesday, Central Oregon!

Breezes will become light out of the west after midnight. Lows will be in the 40's under mostly clear skies.

Our mostly sunny skies will stay with us through Wednesday and Thursday, and highs will stay in the mid to upper 70s.

Clouds that begin to build in Thursday night and Friday are the first indicators of a system that will keep us cool and rainy through the weekend.

Showers and possible thunderstorms will begin Friday night.

By Saturday, we will see highs in the low 60s, accompanied by a 40-50% chance of rain showers.

Highs will stay around 60 through Sunday and into next week.

During that time, we will cling to a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Be aware that overnight lows will be in the low to mid 30's beginning Saturday night.
