Recent rain causes washout, closes section of Forest Service Road 4254 on Ochoco National Forest
PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A section of Forest Service Road 4254, east of the junction of FSR 4254-800 on the Ochoco National Forest east of Prineville, is closed due to a washout, officials said Wednesday.
Recent rainfall has caused significant damage, they said, rendering the road impassable to motor vehicles. To prioritize public safety, barricades and cones have been placed on both sides of the washout.
The Forest Service is working on repairing the damaged section of road and expect to have it reopened by the end of May. FSR 42, 4250 and 4270 provide alternative access routes to the area.
