Mountain snow, wintry mix on the High Desert

Good morning!

The High Desert can expect a mix of rain and some snow throughout the morning. Showers should be tapering down by the afternoon hours.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 11am for the East Slopes of the OR Cascades, including the cities of La Pine, Sunriver and Sisters. Snow levels will be 4000 to 5000 feet. Travel through the mountain passes will be a challenge, so drive with caution.

You may experience some slushy and slick road conditions while driving along 97.

Luckily, there should be plenty of sunshine to help melt the snow. Afternoon highs will mainly be in the 50s today.

Temperatures will drop into the 20s and 30s tonight under mostly clear skies.

Our next round of rain showers will could late Friday and linger into Saturday. The majority of tomorrow will be dry and sunny though. It will feel a little warmer than today with highs mainly in the 60s.

Drive safely out there and enjoy your day.
