Summer kicks off today with warm temps

Happy Thursday!

The summer solstice takes place today around 1:51pm local time, when the direct rays of the sun are over the Tropic of Cancer.  It kicks off the Astronomical Summer for the Northern Hemisphere which will receive 15.5 hours of sunlight.

The first officially day of summer is going to be warm, with temperatures mostly in the 80s across the region. We can expect partly sunny conditions throughout the region.

Skies will be mostly clear tonight with temperatures dropping into the 40s and 50s. Winds will be fairly light over today and tomorrow.

Expect more temperatures in the 80s tomorrow, followed by low 90s on Saturday! It’s shaping up to be a perfect weekend for floating the river! Remember to put on that sunscreen for all outdoor events, including the Crooked River Roundup in Prineville.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
