Kicking off July with warm temperatures

Good morning!

The clouds from the weekend are clearing, bringing us beautiful sunny skies today.

We're starting the month of July with warm temperatures in the 80s. This is right around where we should be for this time of year.

Temperatures will keep climbing as we move into the middle of the work week. Expect highs in the 90s by the Fourth of July on Thursday.

The National Weather Service has already issued Excessive Heat Watches for areas between the Oregon coast and Cascades. It will go into effect on July 4th and last through Saturday evening July 7th. Although Central Oregon cities are not included, it's still important to take precautions and protect yourself from the heat.

Hot and dry conditions increase the risk of fire danger. We've been monitoring the Darlene 3 Fire, which has been burning for the past few days. Although it isn't fully contained, there's minimal smoke, so air quality shouldn't be a concern this morning.

Enjoy the rest of your Monday.
