Last mild day before we heat up again
Today we will remain below normal, with highs reaching the low 80s. We had a few spotty showers across our region yesterday and very early this morning. They are making their way eastward today, allowing us to clear up. Some clouds will linger today but sunny skies will return tomorrow. The moisture is making its way out of the region as well, so we dry out again.
Hot temperatures are making their return as a ridge builds over Oregon. We’ll see temperatures jump back into the 90s in most areas on Wednesday. Some areas will reach 100+ degrees by Thursday or Friday. This heat will remain into next week. Stay safe and protect yourself from that dangerous heat as we enter this stretch.
There is some potential for thunderstorms this weekend, which will mean breezy conditions and lightning concerns. As we dry out and temperatures rise again, fire danger increases. Practice fire safety.
Air quality continues to be poor. This morning looks to be a better day for air quality, since we had some winds from the northwest yesterday evening, providing some ventilation. Today, winds are coming from the north-northwest which should help push that smoke south. Our air quality should clear up a little bit throughout the day, at least better than it’s been the last couple days.
