Hazy today, cooler temps and wet weather ahead

Good Monday morning!

The haze from the weekend lingers today, with highs climbing into the 80s across the region. Expect mostly sunny skies, but clouds will be increasing. Our main concern this morning is the unhealthy air quality levels, so please keep that in mind as you head out.

Tonight lows will be dropping into the 40s and 50s.

Haze and cloud cover will affect high temperatures, which are expected to drop by 3-6 degrees on Tuesday as the weather pattern cools throughout the week.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the highs are only expected to reach into the 60s. Overnight lows could drop below freezing in some parts of Central Oregon.

There is a chance we could see some rain late tomorrow night. Showers are more likely on Wednesday, with a chance of thunderstorms as well.

Some of our wildfires have been sparked by lightning, so we are watching those thunderstorms closely. The good news is that the cooler temperatures will be beneficial for this very hot and dry wildfire season.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
