Mild and dry pattern over the weekend, rain returns late Sunday

KTVZ

The weather pattern this weekend will be a return to the mild conditions with temperatures in the low 70s. Normal high temps for mid-October are the low 60s.  Over the weekend there will be a mixture of clouds and sunshine, as some rain is approaching the NW corner of Oregon. That rain will not migrate to Central Oregon, but some of the cloud cover will.

Our overnight low temperatures will be much milder than the teens and 20s of Friday morning. I expect to see overnight temps in the 30s, which is near or slightly above normal for this time of year.

Sunday will be a day of transition with highs in the 70s as the flow of air arrives from the southwest.  This will also be in tandem with an increase in cloud cover. The clouds will fill the skies by late in the afternoon ahead of some rain that will slice through Central Oregon overnight into Monday.

The rain event Monday will be similar to Thursday’s event with respect to timing, no snow is anticipated.  Showers develop before sunrise and a line of light rain will cross the region before noon. There should be some lingering showers in the afternoon, but generally spotty and disorganized. Winds will be noticeable but not overwhelming.

Showers end before sunset Monday and we will be dry and cool Tuesday through Thursday.  Friday looks like we are in for another round of light rain as temps will be in the 60s
