Rain tapers off, near normal temperatures this week

The region had a brief round of rain Monday morning with the area receiving about a tenth of an inch of rain.  Some areas had a bit more, some a bit less, but generally it was an early morning showery event.

Tonight the area is going to be clear to partly cloudy as a dry pattern sets up for a couple of days. The high temperature readings will be in the middle to low 50s through Thursday with a bit cooler weather on Wednesday.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy as we get more into a typical mid-October temperature profile.  Light winds and the cool air will assist in any remaining fire fighting efforts this week, which also allows the air quality to stay in the good range.

There is going to be a fast moving round of rain Wednesday that is not expected to materialize until it is just east of our three counties. This will bring a bit of a breeze ahead of the line of showers early Wednesday along with some cloud cover. This will result in a slightly cooler and cloudy day, but at the moment, the rainy weather will stay east.

Thursday we start a slightly milder pattern with highs in the upper 50s under partly cloudy skies.  The warming trend continues Friday and will last through the weekend. Rain is slated to arrive over the Cascades Saturday and will persist, off and on, through Sunday and Monday.  The rain will be light and spotty over the high desert. High elevation snow may fall, but not much will accumulate.
