Wintry mix of rain, snow and ice possible tonight
Snow is expected to continue over the Cascades, the lower elevations will be dealing with a mix of rain and snow and some freezing rain overnight and Wednesday. Very little accumulation of snow is expected below 4500 feet, but the mix of rain, snow and ice will be a concern for travelers. Milder air is now in place and the mix of rain and snow is now the dominant weather feature tomorrow.
A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect tonight at 10pm and linger into Thursday (pre-dawn) for the ice and snow potential. Icy conditions are expected to be much more spotty than widespread.

The chance for some light freezing rain is being discussed by the computer models for tonight and tomorrow morning. The amount will be only a thin layer of ice, an icy glaze, but any ice is bad for traveling. The location of the freezing rain will be across portions of the Cascades an west of 97 so travel through mountain passes will be compromised at times.
The bulk of the High Desert will get mainly rain tomorrow and that should help to get ride of whatever is left of the snow on the ground. Once the rain tapers off Wednesday afternoon, the rest of the week looks quiet and dry.
The temperatures are trending milder as well with highs in the middle 40s Wednesday and Thursday, followed by the 50s the rest of the week and into the weekend. Rain is possible Sunday and lingering into Monday morning, before another stretch of dry weather to close out the month of February.
