Cooler today, clouds arrive Saturday, Easter Sunday looks pleasant

The region continues to be impacted by milder than normal temperatures and dry air. There is a noticeable change in the temperatures today as the mercury in the thermometer is only going to reach the middle to upper 50s with a few low 60s. Which is just about right for this time of year.

There is an area of low pressure off to the east that is in just the right position to pull down some cooler air from the north.  An area, or ridge, of high pressure is located in the eastern Pacific, so we are in between the two, allowing for that cooler air from Canada to arrive. The ridge will slide in tomorrow and that will warm us up a bit, but not very much, just a few degrees.

A few clouds arrive Friday along with a slight warm up. The ridge of high pressure over the Eastern Pacific will begin to provide a bit of a warm up.  Highs Friday and Saturday will be in the middle to low 60s. Saturday will be slightly cooler as the skies will be partly to mostly cloudy.  There is mention of some light rain Saturday afternoon on a couple of computer models, but only a sprinkle is being advertised.  The dry air in place should evaporate any rain as it falls from the base of the clouds.  This will generate some gusty winds at time, near 15 - 20 mph, but not much more.

Easter Sunday will be a mix of clouds and sunshine and highs will be in the low 60s and upper 50s.  A partly cloudy sky in the morning will be a nice addition to the sunrise on Easter. Anyone attending sunrise services on Sunday should be treated to a lovely morning.

Monday we continue with the quiet pattern as skies will remain partly cloudy and temperatures hover around 60. Little change in the weather next week as we head into late April.  We could use a little rain, but we are not under any drought conditions in the region just yet.
