Sunshine and warming temperatures to close out the month of April

Yesterday’s clouds cleared out, leaving us under sunny skies today and tomorrow.

Temperatures are on the rise for the rest of the work week. Look for highs to top out in the mid 60s to low 70s this afternoon. We will begin the month of May feeling more like the month of June, as temperatures on Thursday will hit the 70s and low 80s. Friday stays warm, in the 70s, but clouds and rain roll back in throughout the day.

If you’re looking to spend the next few days outside, grab some sunscreen before you leave.

A new system is moving in as we enter the weekend. This deep low pressure and accompanying cold front will drop our temperatures into the 50s for the weekend. Showers return Friday and Saturday, as well as the chance for high elevation snow. There is some indication of thunderstorms Friday evening, but the chances are on the slim side. Keep your eyes and ears peeled just in case, but I think your biggest concern for any Friday night plans will be the rain.

Rain will fall through the day Saturday and there is a chance for snow in some of our higher elevations south and east, as well as the Cascades. With our mild temperatures, little to no accumulation is expected. We might be able to pick up around an inch or two in the high mountains, which would be a nice little refresh for spring skiers. I’ll keep you updated as this system progresses.

Happy Wednesday! Have a great day.
