Mild weather heading into the weekend

Heading into the weekend the region will see a mix of clouds and sunshine. A few rogue showers are possible Friday, then again on Monday, but generally we are looking at a dry and near normal pattern.

Friday will see the mercury in the thermometer hit the low 70s, a far cry from the upper 90s we had to start the week. As mentioned above, there may be an isolated shower in the afternoon, but not all the models are in line with this thinking, and if the rain does occur, it will more than likely evaporate before hitting the ground.

Saturday will be quiet as we see a pleasant late Spring pattern take over. Slightly warmer on Saturday than Friday as highs reach the upper 70s and low 80s.

Sunday will be slightly warmer as highs across the area should be in the low 80s.  Sunny and dry weather will be the best way to describe the next several days.  Don’t forget to use sunscreen and stay hydrated.

This is also the last weekend of Spring 2025.  Spring ends on the 20th of June as the Summer Solstice is next Friday. That is defined in astronomical terms as the moment in time when the direct rays of the Sun over the tropic of Cancer.  Summer seems to have started early with all the 90-degree heat, but we are officially still in the Astronomical Spring. The Meteorological Summer, however, is in full swing and defined by the three warmest months (June, July, and August).

Plenty of sunshine this week and into the weekend, so make sure when you have a good deal of exposed skin, to lather up with sunscreen.

Please stay safe.
