Hot temperatures and enhanced fire threat ahead

We have some hot temperatures expected again this week! A ridge of high pressure is raising our temperatures into the low to mid 90s today and tomorrow. We’re expected to cool down mid week, into the low to mid 80s, following a cold front passage. Temperatures will climb back into the 90s for the weekend.

There is a chance for isolated dry thunderstorms through portions of southern Deschutes County tomorrow afternoon. Lightning and gusty winds in addition to the hot and dry surface conditions will enhance fire danger. A Fire Weather Watch is currently in place and will be active from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night.

The rest of the week will be dry and clear. Winds will get a little breezy at times throughout the week.

Stay safe in the heat and have a happy Monday.
