Increasing clouds today ahead of showers this weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Temperatures will be in the 70s and 80s for the foreseeable future. Saturday is expected to be the cooler of the two days this weekend with everyone dropping below 80.

A new system is approaching which is bringing showers out west and cloud cover to the high desert today. Showers will begin overnight for our region, or more likely early tomorrow morning, and continue through the first half of the day. We’ll pick up around 0.10-0.25”. There will be a clearing for your Saturday dinner plans.

August is usually the driest month for our region. Any rain is welcomed this time of year!

There is a chance for a stray shower or a rumble of thunder Sunday but it appears that the majority of rain and storms will develop further east. Most of Central Oregon will be under partly cloudy skies. Keep an eye out for isolated storms through southern Deschutes County or eastern Crook County.

Next week will be quiet, normal, and sunny.

Have a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend.
