Near normal today but temperatures are heating up this weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

If you liked yesterday, you should enjoy today. Today is a copy and paste of Tuesday. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s, which is near normal for this time of year. Skies are sunny and there will be a light afternoon breeze. Lows will drop into the 40s and 50s.

We will begin to heat up tomorrow. While most areas will see highs in the 80s, some areas will start to see temperatures tip into the 90s. If not tomorrow, then Friday. Another heat wave is making its way to Central Oregon as a ridge of high pressure builds into the region, parking itself here for a few days. Plan for 90 degree temperatures into next week. Stay cool and hydrated, take frequent breaks from the heat, and protect your pup’s paws this weekend.

Conditions will be dry and sunny this weekend. As temperatures rise and humidity decreases, fire danger is increased. Make sure you’re remembering to practice fire safety.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
