Rain returns late this afternoon, rain chances through Thursday

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

The day will start variably cloudy but otherwise dry. You can plan for cloudy conditions for the majority of the day and breezy winds, gusting between 20 and 30mph.

Rain will return late this afternoon as the second front in a series of frontal systems this week passes through. Timing is right around dinner time, or just before. Showers will be light and will continue into the night. Rain totals will be no more than a tenth of an inch again today.

Spotty showers are expected to continue on Wednesday and a stray shower or two is possible Thursday. Although you might not see any rain Thursday, keep the rain coat handy just in case.

Rain and skies will clear leading into the weekend.

Temperatures will be in the 60s all week with the chance for upper 50s at times in higher elevation areas.

Mt. Hood received fresh snow yesterday! Mt. Hood is at 11,000+ elevation, while Mt. Bachelor’s peak is just over 9,000ft. While the snow at Mt. Hood will likely melt, it is a fun first event that lets us know the end of fire season is near and ski season is right around the corner. We shouldn’t be too far behind for our local mountains. Mt. Bachelor saw snow a first snow as early as September 11th last year.

Have a happy Tuesday.
