Hot pattern in place, breezy at times this weekend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - We’re tracking another toasty day, with temperatures nearing the triple digits. Bend reached 100 degrees yesterday, breaking the previous record of 97.

A ridge of high pressure extending into Oregon from the Desert Southwest has brought hotter temperatures and mostly clear skies to the region.

Smoke and haze will remain possible, but breezy westerly winds should gradually improve air quality through the weekend. However, areas near and downwind of active wildfires could remain smoky.

Those winds will also elevate fire danger. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for the Warm Springs area today and Saturday. Relative humidity could fall into the single digits and teens, creating extremely dry conditions.

The heat will continue through the weekend, with temperatures in the mid 90s Saturday before cooling slightly into the upper 80s and low 90s Sunday.

Next week will likely remain dry, but cooler temperatures are ahead. Highs will fall into the upper 80s Monday and Tuesday, followed by the mid 80s Wednesday.
