Deschutes County Farm Bureau awards scholarships

Deschutes County Farm Bureau announced Monday the winners of this year’s scholarship program, which awarded $8,500 to students from families who are members of Farm Bureau.

Three students were given $1,500 scholarships and four received $1,000 scholarships.

The $1,500 award recipients are Ethan Stengel, Cody Nance, and Andrew Stengel.

The $1,000 award recipients are Heather Fenderson, Callie Nance, Alexander Cyrus, and Sam Mitchell.

Congratulations to all scholarship winners!

The annual scholarship program is open to students from Deschutes County Farm Bureau member families.

The state’s largest general farm organization, Oregon Farm Bureau is a grassroots, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization representing the interests of the state’s farmers and ranchers in the public and policymaking arenas.

First established in Oregon in 1919, Farm Bureau is organized in all 36 counties and has nearly 7,000 member families professionally engaged in agriculture. Deschutes County Farm Bureau represents 2,733 families.
