Local Alert Weather, Thu. AM, 7.5.18

KTVZ

Good Thursday Morning, Everyone…

After a mild start to the day we can expect to see more sunshine and some of the hottest temps we will see this week. Highs will reach the upper 80’s to low 90’s. Gentle breezes out of the NW will get a little blustery this afternoon and into the evening. Those gusty winds combine with dry fuels and low relative humidity have prompted the National Weather Service to put a Red Flag Warning (also referred to as a Fire Weather Warning) in place from 1:00 – 9:00 PM today. Fires that do get started will travel very quickly under these conditions.

Skies will stay mostly clear tonight. Lows will be in the upper 40’s to low 50’s. Winds will become light out of the west after midnight.

Look for some modest cooling under mostly sunny skies going into the weekend. Sunny, blue skies return Sunday and we will go into the new work week expecting temps to climb back into the low 90’s.

HAVE A SPARKLING DAY IN CENTRAL OREGON!
