Fireworks-sparked wildfire burns S. Oregon home

KTVZ

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Officials say a 14-year-old girl playing with fireworks started a wildfire that burned a vacant house in southern Oregon.

State Department of Forestry spokeswoman Melissa Rae Cano says no injuries were reported in Thursday’s blaze in the community of White City. In addition to the house, the flames burned a bus, two recreational vehicles, four outbuildings and six boats.

A control line has been established around the blaze that scorched 115 acres.

Cano says the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case to determine if charges are warranted.
