Sisters City Manager Brant Kucera resigning

KTVZ

Sisters City Manager Brant Kucera has announced his resignation, effective August 18, to accept a new position as the city administrator of Ashland, Wisconsin.

“Over the past year, it has been a true pleasure to get to know everyone,” Kucera said in a statement issued Thursday.

“However, I feel that I am missing out on my son’s life and have decided to move back to the Midwest in order to be closer to him,” Kucera said.

“I want to assure you that this decision to move on is only for personal reasons,” he added. “Council and staff’s hard work and dedication have made this a great city, and no matter who sits in the manager’s office, it will continue to be a great city. We have a great team in place and employees who will make the transition successful.”

Sisters Mayor Chuck Ryan said he will be working on a transition plan for replacement of the city manager with the city council and staff.

Kucera was chosen by councilors in May 2017 as the new city manager, topping a field of four candidates. He previously was city manager in Cannon Beach since November 2014.

He succeeded Rick Allen, who had served as interim city manager for over a year.
