Summer-like temps today, fall feel this weekend

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Good Thursday morning!

Central Oregon will see sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 80s today. Enjoy the warmth while it lasts because a big cooldown is on the way.

Friday will bring increasing clouds and highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Winds will pick up as a cold front approaches Friday evening.

A few mountain showers are possible late in the day, but the high desert will likely stay dry. Gusty winds combined with dry air will increase fire concerns.

Behind the front, highs will drop into the 50s Saturday and Sunday, making it feel much more like fall. There’s a slight chance of showers both days, and a few snowflakes could mix in. Any accumulation should be light and short-lived.

Overnight lows will dip into the 20s and 30s, bringing the potential for widespread frost and freezing temperatures this weekend.

Sunshine returns Monday with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Mostly dry conditions continue Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures staying in that same range.
