Natural gas projects to affect NW, SE Bend streets

Traffic patterns in Bend will be impacted this week by two different Cascade Natural Gas projects.

Starting Tuesday, crews will move to the alley on the west side of NW 14 th Street, between NW Galveston & NW Fresno avenues, and begin installing a second steel gas main. This work will continue in the alleys off 14 th all week, closing all traffic on 14 th St. between Commerce and Galveston.

Also Tuesday, crews on SE Miller Avenue will begin replacing a transmission line, blocking the intersections of SE Heyburn and 4 th streets. That work will also continue all week, necessitating regular traffic closures and detours.
