Deschutes Market/Dale Road project begins Monday

KTVZ

Work is set to begin next Monday on the Deschutes Market Road / Dale Road intersection improvement project north of Bend. It will include constructing a left-turn lane for southbound Deschutes Market Road at Dale Road and realigning Dale Road at the intersection so the roads intersect each other perpendicularly.

The project will also include paving Deschutes Market Road between 19th St and Hamehook Road upon completion of the intersection work. The $1.4 million project will be constructed by the county’s contractor, Tri County Paving, LLC of Redmond.

Dale Road will be closed at the intersection with Deschutes Market Road beginning Monday, Sept. 17, to allow for the realignment work. The closure is anticipated to be in place for three weeks, and a detour route will be provided. The project is anticipated to be completed by Oct. 26.

Deschutes County officials said motorists on Deschutes Market Road and Dale Road should anticipate delays and are encouraged to use caution, observe traffic control devices, and slow down when traveling through the work zone and detour routes. Detour routes will be clearly marked.
