Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM

KTVZ

Happy Friday evening, everyone!

Wind gusts are strong right now as a cold front approaches the coast. Gusts will top 25 miles per hour as the front makes its way through. Breezes are expected to stay strong through midnight. Overnight lows under partly cloudy skies will be in the low to mid 40s.

Some smoke will linger tonight, but this front is really going to help clear out our skies. Air quality levels will likely bounce back and forth from ‘moderate’ to ‘good’.

Saturday morning will start on a mild note with temperatures in the mid 40s. We’ll see some clouds in the morning, but will look forward to mostly sunny skies throughout the day. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 70s, which is more than 10 degrees cooler than where we were for Friday.

Winds will be breezy at times as the system pushes its way through Oregon. Gusts will be around 15 to 20 miles per hour. A few lingering clouds will be overhead for the weekend.

Clearer skies hang around for Sunday. Highs will be a little warmer than Saturday in the mid to upper 70s and lower 80s.

Overnight into Monday the next front pushes in and brings even cooler air. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s by Monday, so we’re below average by about 10 degrees. By Tuesday a slight chance for showers develops. As of now some light rain showers are expected overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
