Crews stop fire that threatened homes NE of Sisters

KTVZ

Sisters-area fire crews crews responded to stop and put out a fast-spreading grass fire that initially threatened three homes northeast of Sisters Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Several crews responded around 3 p.m. to the fire that burned about an acre and a half on both sides of Sno Cap Lane near Vista Ridge Drive, according to the Sisters-Camp Sherman Rural Fire Protection District’s Twitter posts.

Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies said the fire initially threatened three homes, but crews had stopped forward progress of the fire by about 4 p.m. and reported no structures were lost.

Some roads remained closed in the area and motorists were urged to avoid the area while crews completed their work.

We’ll have more details as available.
