Here’s the cities of Bend and Redmond’s weekly list of road closures and delays for the week of Oct. 8:
Bend:
Special Events
· Fall Fest, October 5 – 7, the following streets will be closed:
o Friday

For the week of:
October 8 – 14
· 14 th Street north of Simpson Avenue for median work, intermittent flagging with minor delays, 10/8/18 – 10/9/18, 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.
· Butler Market Road at intersection with Wells Acres Road for striping work, lane shifts in both northbound and southbound lanes, 10/11/18, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
· Dean Swift Road between Bear Creek Road and Highway 20 for pedestrian access improvements, northbound lane closure with detour, 10/8/18 – 11/2/18,
· Purcell Boulevard at intersection with Paula Drive for crosswalk striping, single lane closures with flaggers, 10/9/18, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Ongoing Closures:
· 14th Street between Albany Avenue and Galveston Avenue, full road closure with detours for work on Phase 2 of the 14th Street Reconstruction project. For project and detour info: www.bendoregon.gov/14thstreet .
· Empire Avenue between 18th Street and Purcell Boulevard, closed for road reconstruction, widening, and sidewalk construction, full road closure with detour, 9/11/18 – 12/1/18. More info: www.bendoregon.gov/empire.
· Shevlin Park Road between Reserve Camp Court and Skyline Ranch Road for shoulder work, lane shifts, 10/1/18 – 10/19/18, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
· Cooley Road between O.B. Riley Road and Highway 20, road closure with detour, 10/1/18 – 11/15/18.
Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors.
Redmond:
City Street Maintenance Operations:
Monday, October 8 thru October 12, 2018 – The following traffic disruptions will take place:
Tuesday, October 9, 2018 – Starting at 7:30 a.m., SW Helmholtz Way from SW Wickiup Ave to SW Quartz Ave.
SW Helmholtz Way from SW Wickiup Ave to SW Quartz Ave will have flagging and pilot car operations for road repair, water infrastructure maintenance, and vegetation mowing. Traffic delays and disruptions will occur.
Friday, October 12, 2018 – Starting at 2:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., SW Veterans Way from S Hwy 97 to the Railroad Crossing
SW Veterans Way from S Hwy 97 to the Railroad Crossing will be reduced to one lane with flaggers from 2:30 a.m. through 6:00 a.m. to install railroad legends at the crossing arms. Traffic delays and disruptions will occur.
NOTE – During street maintenance operations, closure durations and disruptions are determined by progress of the operation and weather conditions.
Ongoing Closures:
8th Street from NW Quince Ave. to NW Poplar Pl. – Closed for construction through Friday, October 12, 2018.
8th Street from NW Quince Ave. to NW Poplar Pl. will be closed while Mckernan Enterprises crews install Sewer/Water & Road Improvements. Local access for residents is permitted.
South Canal Improvement Project – South Canal Blvd is closed between Veterans Way and Salmon Ave. Local access is permitted.
Scheduled Activities for the week of 10/08/2018 – 10/12/2018:
North Section ( SW Canal Blvd to SW Salmon Ave. – SW Obsidian Ave and 11th Street )
— SW Canal Blvd from SW Veterans Way to Quartz will remain closed to allow for drywell installation and intersection construction at SW Obsidian Ave and SW Canal Blvd. No southbound traffic will be allowed from SW Veterans Way.
— SW Obsidian Ave remains closed from SW Canal Blvd to SW 12th St. Local access will be permitted from the west on SW Obsidian Ave via SW 15th St. No access will be permitted onto SW Obsidian Ave from South Canal Blvd.
— Installation and pressure testing of 18-inch water line, road subgrade and stormwater facilities on SW Canal Blvd.
The improvement project completion date is set for April 2019. Sections of South Canal Blvd. will be closed temporarily during construction, but local access to area homes and businesses will remain open. Weekly project updates can be found online at https://www.southcanalblvd.org/.
