Bend’s Chick-fil-A construction delayed until 2019

Construction of Bend’s Chick-fil-A has been delayed until the spring of 2019.

Last year, NewsChannel 21 reported that officials said the restaurant, eagerly awaited by many, would be open for business sometime in April of this year. However, it’s mid-October and there’s still no sign of the restaurant.

When its built, Chick-fil-A will be located at the new Robal Road Village shopping center under construction along North Highway 97 in Bend.

Robal Road Village Property Manager Tyler Kincaid said Monday the chain had too much scheduled this year and had to push back its plans to build in Bend until next year, maybe in the springtime.

NewsChannel 21 also has reached out to Chick-fil-A corporate officials directly for more details, but we have not yet heard back from them.

Meanwhile, as we reported late last week, Cracker Barrel’s plans to open at the same shopping center this year are also delayed.

The under-construction restaurant was supposed to open in November, but officials tell NewsChannel 21 it likely won’t open its doors until early 2019.

People who drive by Robal Road Village will see a Cracker Barrel sign there, which went up last week.

Cracker Barrel told us it plans to hire more than 175 full- and part-time employees.
