Hunger Prevention Coalition receives $2,000 grant

KTVZ

The Les Schwab Contribution Committee has awarded the Hunger Prevention Coalition of Central Oregon a grant of $2,000.

The money will be used to support food banks and meal sites throughout the Central Oregon region with fresh fruits, vegetables and produce such as milk and eggs. These items are not standard for traditional food box outlets due to limited storage and refrigeration.

The nutritional value of fresh food is essential for good health and strength for people of all ages, particularly children during their formative years, the organization said.
