Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM
Happy Thursday evening, everyone!
We’ve seen mostly cloudy skies today with breezy conditions at times ahead of changes in the weather. Daytime highs were into the mid 60s for today. Our average daytime high at the airport in Redmond is now 59 degrees.
Overnight expect clouds to clear right around midnight before increasing through the early morning hours. Winds will be generally out of the south gusting 10 miles per hour. Lows will fall into the upper 30s and lower 40s, which is above average. Dry conditions are expected overnight in Central Oregon.
Tomorrow starts with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies and we’ll see the rain follow. Scattered shower activity will pick up right around lunchtime across the High Desert. Winds will be breezy as well gusting 25 miles per hour as the next front moves south. Highs for Friday will be back into the low to mid 60s.
Steady rain showers will be west of the Cascades throughout the day tomorrow. Snow levels are still fairly high, so we’ll see rain across the mountains and passes in case you’re traveling this weekend.
Overnight into Saturday shower activity dwindles and we’ll start Saturday with cloudy skies. The grass will likely be damp Saturday morning if you have outdoor games or plans. Saturday looks mainly dry, but could be clipped by a few sprinkles. Highs will still be in the mid 60s.
As we head into Sunday shower chances will pick up and we’ll be left with spotty showers for Sunday. This weekend won’t see too much steady rain so much as we’ll see hit and miss showers. Sunday brings cooler air and breezy conditions as the next front moves across the area. Temperatures will be around average in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Winds will gust around 20 miles per hour.
The beginning of next week brings us that cooler air. Highs will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s, which is about 10 degrees below average.
