Power lost on Crooked River Ranch

KTVZ

Over 1,000 people were without power for a while starting about 7 a.m. Tuesday on Crooked River Ranch.

A fire on a power line knocked a transformer to the ground on SW Equestrian Place. Pacific Power reported at least 1,100 people lost power.

One of those residents lives a few miles away from the fallen transformer, and is having five of her grandchildren staying with her. After about an hour and a half, it was getting uncomfortable as her house started to lose heat.

“No heat, no water,” Margie Toman said. “I have a water pump to the house because my house is so far from the road. So, no electricity meant no water. I didn’t know how long it’d be out.”

After about 90 minutes, the power kicked back on at her house.

Other people NewsChannel 21 talked with said the outage only lasted a few minutes for them.

Power has since been restored to the ranch.
