Warming back with with our next best chance of rain on the horizon

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Howdy all, and a big happy Monday to you. After a cooler day today, we're heading right back into a warming trend across Central Oregon over the next few days. Highs will climb back to seasonal averages and even above normal by midweek, with Wednesday reaching around 71 degrees- about 5 degrees warmer than average. Temperatures will be mild, but clouds will stay in place, which brings us to the next part of this week's forecast.

We're are tracking our next chance for rain Wednesday into Thursday, and this time, the forecast is looking a little more promising for some moisture across the High Desert. Thursday currently looks like our best chance to see precipitation, with some shower chances for Wednesday as well. While we're not expecting significant rainfall, any moisture would be beneficial as we continue to deal with ongoing drought conditions.

By Friday, temperatures will drop back into the low 50s for highs, setting us up for a cooler weekend ahead. We'll keep watching how this system develops, including how much moisture could make it into Bend and the High Desert, and when the best chances for rain will arrive.

We'll be tracking the latest forecast and any changes to our rain chances right here on KTVZ.com and during our daily newscasts. Stay tuned!
