The Duck Store in Bend has closed its doors

KTVZ

The Duck Store at the Bend River Mall closed on New Year’s Eve, a dozen years after the University of Oregon opened its first store featuring UO-themed apparel and other items in Central Oregon.

The Duck Store moved to the Bend River Mall location in 2012, after opening its first store in Central Oregon in 2006.

“We’ve been honored to serve fans in Central Oregon and are grateful to those who have visited us to share in our mutual enthusiasm for the University of Oregon,” Arlyn Schaufler, CEO of The Duck Store, said in a late-December news release.

“The Duck Store’s nonprofit mission to support the academic needs of students guides all of our organization’s decisions, including the difficult ones,” Schaufler said. “Even so, this change is not made without careful consideration and concern for our team members and customers who are impacted.”

The store closure on Dec. 31 — the day, coincidentally, the Ducks won the Redbox Bowl — affected the Bend River Mall location only. The Duck Store will continue to operate existing stores in Portland and Eugene and serve customers everywhere at UODuckStore.com.

Returns & Exchanges

Customers in Central Oregon seeking to return or exchange merchandise purchased at The Duck Store can contact their call center at (800) 352-1733. Qualifying returns and exchanges of items purchased from the former Bend River Mall location will be processed free of shipping charges through June 30.

Gift Cards for The Duck Store do not expire and may be used at any other Duck Store location or online at UODuckStore.com.
