(Update: Missing woman located, OK)

A Bend woman reported missing over the weekend has been found “alive and well,” Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies said Monday morning.

The public had been asked to provide any information on the whereaboauts of Katrina Gagatko, 43, last seen leaving her workplace late last Thursday night.

Around 6:40 a.m. Monday, a friend notified the sheriff’s office that she had been in contact with Gagatko by phone and knew her location. Shortly after 7 a.m., a deputy located Gagatko and confirmed she was alive and well, Lt. Chad Davis said.

“The sheriff’s office would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation,” Davis added.

The sheriff’s office received a report around 7:15 p.m. Saturday evening that Gagatko was missing, Davis said Sunday.

Gagatko’s roommate, who also works with her at Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living & Memory Care on Powers Road, told deputies Gagatko last was seen leaving work in Bend around 10 p.m. last Thursday, Davis said. Gagatko told her friend she was going to meet with another friend in the Sisters area.

Gagatko later failed to show up for a scheduled work day and her cellphone had been turned off, Davis said. He added that she might “be staying temporarily in the Sisters area, at an unknown location.”

Gagatko had been entered as a missing person, Davis said, and the sheriff’s office asked the public to call dispatchers if they had seen Gagatko, her pickup or knew her whereabouts or other information.
