Donations sought for Community Baby Shower events

KTVZ

The Central Oregon Perinatal Care Team and community partners are seeking donations for their second annual Central Oregon Community Baby Shower events.

These events are great opportunities to celebrate both expectant families and families with newborns in our community; especially those who would otherwise not have the opportunity to have a baby shower.

Community Baby Shower events will be held at multiple locations across Central Oregon on Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct.19.

The events will connect families with public health and community resources, including lactation support, education and information on safe sleep and car seat safety, the opportunity to connect with WIC nutrition, maternal mental health, home visiting and family support programs, as well as the chance to enroll in the Oregon Health Plan and connect with OSU Extension resources.

Event coordinators are seeking community donations for the events. Suggested donations include new and unopened:

Diapers (disposable or cloth) Cribs and mattresses Wipes Baby carriers (front or back) Gift cards (gas, groceries, department stores, etc.) Toiletries (for baby and/or parent) High chairs Sanitary products (for parent) Pack ‘n Plays Receiving blankets Spa service for parents (nails, hair, massage, etc.) Bumbo chairs Car seats Baby bath tubs and supplies Bouncy seats Baby thermometers Strollers Bottles and nipples Diaper bags Training cups (360 style) Baby swings
