Rainy pattern this week, breezy and cool

The persistent pattern of precipitation is likely to continue through the week with periods of light rain across Central Oregon.  Not much in the way of sunshine this first week of Autumn and the temps will be in the 60s and 50s for highs.

The normal temperatures for this time of year should be the low 70s, but we will struggle to get out of the low 60s most of the week. Some peaks of sunshine will be few and far between restricting the ability for the sun to warm the region.

 A cold front will push through the Beaver State late Monday which will keep the Pacific Northwest on the cooler side of normal. There is not much change in the temperatures this week as we are locked in the rainy and cooler regiment.

The complications of this forecast are due to a series of upper-level systems that will drop through the west. Bottom line, each brings a chance for rain along with cooler air temperatures for the next several days.

For those interested in the rainfall for this month, unofficially in Bend (at the airport) we have seen 0.73” as of Sunday. Normal amount for the month to date is 0.31”.
