Winter storms ahead, temperatures dropping

Happy Sunday everyone!

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades, including areas like La Pine and Sunriver until Wednesday morning. Visibility on the roads could be reduced significantly due to widespread blowing snow and strong winds.

Tomorrow more snow is expected in our region. Portions of Central Oregon could see up to 0.5-1 inch of snowfall. Some areas may get more of a wintry mix.

A Blizzard Warning is now in effect from 4am Tuesday to 4pm Wednesday. This is for the East Slopes of the Cascades, including cities such as La Pine, Sunriver and Sisters. Travel could be very difficult to impossible with widespread blowing snow reducing visibility. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph.

Other areas not included in the Blizzard Warning are being issued a Wind Advisory. This will expire early Wednesday morning as well.

The active weather pattern continues with colder temperatures as we get closer to the weekend.

Thursday through Friday should bring a break from the precipitation, especially in the lower elevations.

High temperatures will be in the 30s to 40s this week.
