Rainy and mild today, dry and mild Sunday

Rain showers are likely to fall over the region, off and on, most of the day. Keep the rain gear handy as there is not much change to the pattern today and tonight.

The other aspect to the forecast today will be the warmer than usual temperatures. Normally this time of year the mercury in the thermometer is around the middle 40s, today we will hit the middle 50s.

The normal high temperatures for early April are the middle 50s in Bend.

There may be some patchy fog today as well due to the warm air sliding over the cold snow that is still on the ground in some spots.

The warmer than normal air and the rain may lead to some localized flooding too. The snow will be melting due to the temps and the rain, so a few streams and creeks may be running fast and full.

The warmer than normal pattern continues Sunday, but with a dry air mass overhead. Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected along with temps in the upper 50s.  More runoff is likely Sunday and there may be a better chance for minor flooding tomorrow due to the lag time of the melt and flow.

Monday will be like Sunday with highs a couple degrees milder, near 60. The next chance for some rain is not until Wednesday.  Cooler air returns on Thursday and Friday along with some light rain and mountain snow.

Stay safe.
