Authorities in upstate New York say an 85-year-old former doctor from Arizona has been charged with manslaughter for his role in the suicide of a woman in a motel room. The unidentified woman’s body was found in a Kingston, New York, motel room by first responders on Nov. 9 after cleaning staff reported an unresponsive person. Stephen Miller, of Tucson, Arizona, was arraigned Friday on a charge of second-degree manslaughter under a provision that allows the charge for intentionally causing or aiding another person’s suicide. He pleaded not guilty and posted bail. His attorney said Miller was merely providing comfort to the woman.
