OAKRIDGE, Ore. (KTVZ) — A Dallas, Oregon man was killed Monday night in a crash on state Highway 58 near Odell Lake when a semi-truck’s trailer slid into the oncoming lane and the path of his pickup truck, Oregon State Police reported.

OSP troopers responded shortly before 8 p.m. to the two-vehicle crash near milepost 68 in Klamath County.

Troopers said a preliminary investigation found that a 28-year-old Liberty Lake, Washington resident was driving a semi-truck heading east on the highway when the trailer slid into the westbound lane.

A westbound pickup driven by Michael Edward Davis, 57, of Dallas, struck the trailer, and Davis died at the crash scene, OSP said

The semi driver sustained minor injuries. A 53-year-old Dallas woman who was a passenger in the pickup also sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash and on-scene investigation affected Highway 58 for about seven hours, OSP said. Road conditions are a suspected contributing factor, but the investigation is continuing.
